At the Cité du Cinéma, an exciting exhibition will blow audiences away from February 15 until June 30, 2014. The exhibition is called ‘Star Wars Identities,’ and it reveals the lives, personalities, allies and enemies of Luke and Anakin Skywalker, the iconic protagonists of the six Star Wars films.
For this one-of-a-kind exhibit, visitors will get the unique chance to see jewels from the archives of Lucasfilm, the company that produced the films that changed the sci-fi genre forever. Imagine seeing the Millennium Falcon and R2-D2 up close and right before your eyes! Generations of children and myriads of adults have loved the magic of Star Wars and ‘Star Wars Identities’ allows them to see Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Yoda for themselves. Could anything be more exciting?
Two hundred pieces, props, costumes and objects are being displayed — many for the first time, so visitors to the exhibition can feel special knowing that what they see has not been seen by many outside of those actually involved in making the Star Wars films. Guests staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can join in on the fun by taking a metro ride to the Cité du Cinéma, where the exhibit will be located.
The Cité du Cinéma is accessible by Line 13 of the metro, after a 5-minute walk from the station Carrefour Pleyel. The building housing the Cité du Cinéma has an interesting history itself, acting as a power plant for the Parisian metro from 1933 to 1981. Restored in the 1990s, the building now serves as a monument of tribute for cinema and cinematography. Therefore, a trip to ‘Star Wars Indentities’ also means a chance to visit one of the most interesting places for film lovers in Paris.
