From river cruises costing just one or two euros to dance events to street art activities, the sheer variety of the Summer of the Canal is sure to impress. Plus, film screenings, concerts, evening parties and nautical activities are all included on the schedule.

One very special activity that is sure to please newcomers to Paris is the nighttime cruise, also called the Night Boat, which is happening on Saturday nights starting at 7 p.m. The Night Boat departs from the Bassin de la Villette and takes visitors on a journey that could include wine workshops, culinary workshops, slam poetry performances and other surprises. There are also shorter cruises departing during the day every 30 minutes, giving visitors a good overview of all the different activities available along the Canal de l’Ourcq.

Fans of food can check out the food trucks that will provide a lot of tasty treats to snack on while relaxing at the canal. Burgers, Venezuelan food and milkshakes are just a few of the options that will be available. For those who want to dance, a boat called the Balapaname will provide musical entertainment ranging from rock to tango to jazz.
