This summer, both visitors and inhabitants of the city of Paris are enjoying the Summer of the Canal at the Canal de l’Ourcq, which is located in the 19th arrondissement. This lively event offers a number of activities to enjoy from now until August 25, 2013.
For the sixth year in a row, the Summer of the Canal is being organized in Paris during the summer months. Guests staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can enjoy a full agenda of events and activities meant to delight and entertain visitors of all ages.
From river cruises costing just one or two euros to dance events to street art activities, the sheer variety of the Summer of the Canal is sure to impress. Plus, film screenings, concerts, evening parties and nautical activities are all included on the schedule.
One very special activity that is sure to please newcomers to Paris is the nighttime cruise, also called the Night Boat, which is happening on Saturday nights starting at 7 p.m. The Night Boat departs from the Bassin de la Villette and takes visitors on a journey that could include wine workshops, culinary workshops, slam poetry performances and other surprises. There are also shorter cruises departing during the day every 30 minutes, giving visitors a good overview of all the different activities available along the Canal de l’Ourcq.
Fans of food can check out the food trucks that will provide a lot of tasty treats to snack on while relaxing at the canal. Burgers, Venezuelan food and milkshakes are just a few of the options that will be available. For those who want to dance, a boat called the Balapaname will provide musical entertainment ranging from rock to tango to jazz.
