This Christmas, visitors staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can take a little excursion to a château that is not too far away from the city of Paris. At the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, visitors can celebrate the holidays in a magical atmosphere filled with Christmas cheer.
Visitors can enjoy the ambiance of the Château de Vaux le Vicomte on selected dates between December 1, 2012 and January 6, 2013. During this time, the castle will be decorated with lights and ornaments that will impress guests of all ages.
Upon arriving at the estate, guests will first walk through a passage of beautiful illuminated Christmas trees. What’s more, children will be delighted to see a carousel dating from the time of the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, which is placed right in front of the castle. With 17 wooden horses that can be ridden, this carousel adds even more to this already magical environment.
Once inside the château, visitors should head to the Grand Salon, where they can get a glimpse of the 7-meter-tall Christmas tree that is decorated with almost 4,300 ornaments. Throughout all of the salons that guests can visit in the château, there is a total of 14,000 ornaments and decorations. Added to that are the fireplaces that showcase the warm ambience of certain rooms.
In addition to touring the beautifully decorated rooms of the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, visitors can also see the Christmas spectacle and the Christmas shop that have been organized at the estate especially for the holidays.
There are several ways to get to the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, including commuter trains and the suburban train (the RER D). There are also certain excursion companies that offer guided visits with direct journeys from Paris to the château.
