The festival ‘Blues sur Seine’ (‘Blues on the Seine’) is getting ready to come back for a spectacular 15th edition. From November 8 until November 23, 2013 talented blues musicians will fill up the Yvelines, a suburban area close to Paris — perhaps most well known for being the location of the Versailles Palace. Now, in addition to seeing the impressively immense and ornate castle in Versailles, visitors have another reason to take a little trip just outside of the City of Light.
Accessible both by car and through public transportation, the 31 communes of the Yvelines will be filled with beautiful and soulful tunes during the month of November. Created in 1999, the Blues sur Seine event is more than just a festival. It is also a space for cultural exchange between artists from all backgrounds and a diverse audience. Moreover, each year, both famous musicians and upcoming talents are invited to take part in Blues sur Seine, providing different perspectives on the blues genre, which is constantly evolving.
More than 60 musicians will head to the Yvelines in order to present a variety of blues styles to both novices and experts of the musical genre. Ninety social and cultural establishments as well as 27 businesses have participated in the organization of this event, be it through providing venue space, financial support or in other ways. The festival is made up of 140 shows put on by roughly 65 musical acts from all over the world.
Guests staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can check out this one-of-a-kind musical experience during their stay in Paris. More information, as well as a full agenda, can be found on the website for the festival Blues sur Seine.
