Nothing is more magical than Christmastime in Paris, and those who have the pleasure of visiting the Champs-Elysées from November 16, 2012 until January 6, 2013 will get to experience a wonderful winter treat. During this time, the Champs-Elysées Christmas Village will be setting up shop on this mythical avenue.
170 wood chalets will inhabit the avenue, finely decorated and waiting for curious passers-by to explore their goods. Artisans come and participate in this event in order to share their diverse art objects, food and gifts. Waffles, crepes and sweets are just of few of the culinary delights that will greet visitors, their friends and their families. What’s more, a village of artisanal art reveals unique and original objects that make great gifts. Artists from all over France will be available to provide a special touch to this Christmas market.
Gifts like sheepskin socks, Christmas ornaments and lemon squeezers can be browsed through and purchased just in time for Christmas. For children, there will be special activities, like train rides, giant slides, merry-go-rounds with wooden horses, a trampoline, mini go-karts and a skating rink. Plus, once night has fallen, Santa Claus will be able to be seen flying away from 40 meters high.
Once visitors have finished with their shopping and playing, they will be able to relax in restaurants set up at the Place de la Concorde.
Guests staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can enjoy all of this and more during their visit to Paris. The Christmas Village of the Champs-Elysées will welcome visitors Sunday through Thursday from noon until 11:00 p.m. as well as Friday and Saturday from noon until midnight.
