A Circus Festival Dazzles Parisian Audiences in January

The Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain (The International Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow) is a world-renowned event where young circus artists gather in Paris from all across the globe in order to show off their impressive talents. Established in 1977, the reputation of the festival has grown enormously, and it is now one of the major circus events in the world.

At this event, new artists reveal their acts to an enthusiastic audience, giving the public a chance to take part in what are the most exciting moments that many of these artists have ever experienced. Guests staying at the Hôtel de la Tour Maubourg can also share this experience during their stay in Paris. The next edition of the Festival will take place from the 23rd to the 26th of January, 2014 at the Cirque Phenix in the 12th arrondissement.

Although the performers come from the four corners of the world, they all have one thing in common: they are age 25 or younger and their acts have not been seen very often before they step onto the stage at the Cirque Phenix. Some of the performers are self-taught, while others have grown up in circus families or have attending performing schools. No matter where they come from, however, their amazing talents are sure to impress a variety of audiences.

A mere 24 acts were chosen from more than 800 applications. Of these 24 acts, many different types of performances are represented — from acrobatics and trapeze to juggling and magic. In all, nearly 100 artists will be present to dazzle the Festival’s audience.

For any visitors who want to make their time in Paris truly spectacular, a visit to the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain is a great way to experience something extraordinary in the City of Light.
